ACUPUNCTURE.

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that has been used for centuries to treat a variety of conditions.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body, known as acupoints. Our expert physiotherapists can incorporate acupuncture into a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. The following are some of the ways in which we use acupuncture in our practice.

Pain Management:

Acupuncture is often used in combination with other treatments in our practice to relieve pain. The acupuncture needles are inserted into the relevant acupoints associated with the pain to stimulate the release of endorphins which are the body's natural painkillers. This can help to reduce symptoms and improve mobility.

Musculoskeletal Conditions:

A variety of musculoskeletal conditions can be treated using acupuncture. These include back pain, neck pain and osteoarthritis. Inserting needles into the affected acupoints can help to improve blood flow and reduce inflammation in the body.

Sports Injuries:

Acupuncture can be used to treat sports injuries such as sprains, strains, and muscle spasms. Needles are inserted into the acupoints associated with the injury to reduce inflammation which can promote healing and recovery.

Stress and Anxiety:

Acupuncture can be used to promote relaxation when needles are inserted into the acupoints associated with stress and anxiety. These needles stimulate the release of endorphins which in turn promote relaxation thus reducing any stress and anxiety a patient may have.
